FCATs
The state of Florida requires that all fourth grade students take the Florida Comprehensive Achievement Tests. These tests assess students' knowledge in reading, writing, and math based on Florida's Sunshine State Standards(SSS).  Students, parents, and teachers need to be well informed about the tests and how to best prepare to take the tests in order to meet with success. The following pages should be very useful in helping you to prepare.
FCAT Explorer - This is the place to go to find out about and practice skills needed to excel on the FCAT. You need to sign in, but it is free. During the school year, all students will get a sign-in name and password.

Florida Department of Education - FCAT - This is the Department of Education's FCAT Home Page. This web site has links to many other sites that address FCAT issues.

FCA
T Reading 4th Grade - Get an idea of what the reading section of the Fcat is like. This site has practice pages that students can do online and get immediate feedback.

What is FCAT Writing? - Florida tests writing in the 4th, 8th, and 10th grades.  This site will help you to understand what the writing part of the FCAT is like. Look at the 6-point scale (rubric) to see what your score is based on.
